Yamini Ravindran, a lawyer by profession, is the Director for Legal and Advocacy of the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) and the Executive Director of the Religious Liberty Commission of the Asia Evangelical Alliance (AEA).
An ardent advocate for human rights, Yamini has carried out extensive work in the area of religious freedom, transitional justice and democracy in Sri Lanka. She has also led award-winning national campaigns such as the MinorMatters project to promote religious freedom, which received the Intercultural Innovation Award for 2019 by the UN Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group.
Apart from her roles with the NCEASL and the AEA, Yamini serves as an Associated Scholar on the Religious Freedom Institute’s South and Southeast Asia Action Team. She also travels frequently to restricted countries to train Christians on religious freedom advocacy and human rights and is passionate about building resilience among those under pressure for their faith.
Yamini holds an LLB from the University of London and is currently reading for a Master’s Degree in Human Rights at the University of Colombo. She presently lives in Moratuwa, a large coastal suburb of Colombo city.
