WEA is very pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Piper as the new WEA Youth Commission Chair. Colin will lead a 2-year review of the Youth Commission’s strategic direction.
In this fast-changing early 21st century world, half of the population in many majority world countries is under the age of 25. Youth Culture dominates the Northern Hemisphere and its growing global impact means that the next generation in Sao Paolo, Seoul, and Sofia have more in common with each other than with their respective parents.
As the WEA unites to transform, Colin shares WEA’s vision to mobilize many Christian young people around the world to work cross-generationally delivering essential transformation together. Piper comments, ‘I am particularly excited by the opportunity to seek God together for answers to the new questions about youth work raised by the Cape Town 2010 Congress - the collaborative effort between the WEA and the Lausanne movement.’
Colin succeeds Paul Fleischmann, former Youth Commission Chair and still an active member of the Commission. Paul writes ‘I am delighted that Colin has agreed to lead this review, and very much look forward to seeing new paradigms emerging.’
Colin brings a unique mixture of experience, passion, and world-awareness to this task, which WEA is convinced will help people to develop new global paradigms together.
Please join me in welcoming Colin to the WEA family.
