                                          Blow the Trumpet!
A Call for Repentance and Prayer
                                                  Joel 2

Global Day of Prayer, 23 May 2010

Dear Friends

This weekend the Body of Christ will once again unite to celebrate Easter, remembering the death of our Lord as well as His glorious victory over death as He rose from the dead on Easter Sunday.  In accordance with Clement of Alexandria who once said: “He (Jesus) changed sunset into sunrise”, we believe that the sun will never set again for us! In fact, as the sun rises from East to West, we will now see “the knowledge of the glory of the Lord cover the earth as the water covers the sea”, Hab. 2:14.

In just 52 days the Body of Christ will once again unite to celebrate the Global Day of Prayer and their prayers will echo from every country of the world, as each nation gathers in repentance and prayer.
“ When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place” – Acts 2:1

There are great needs, there is an urgency; but we believe that as we repent and turn away from our sins God will see our hearts and hear our prayers and answer our pleas. (2 Chron 7:14)

We are happy to report that 183 countries have currently registered and we truly believe that all the nations in the world will once again participate in the Global Day of Prayer.

To celebrate His Story and to continue responding to His Call, we invite you to join us, together with 64 nations (so far represented) on Sunday, 23 May 2010 to celebrate the Global Day of Prayer event, to be held at Newlands Rugby Stadium, Cape Town, South Africathe venue where it all started!

In order to celebrate the faithfulness of His people, a 2-day conference will precede the Global Day of Prayer (20 & 21 May) where leaders from various networks and ministries (Prayer, Transformation, Mission, Church and Youth) are invited to share the ‘untold stories’ of the ‘unknown heroes of faith’ as we share in His Glory.
