Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher received doctorates in ecumenical theology (Holland), cultural anthropology (USA) and comparative religion (Germany). He is an ethicist and director of the Martin Bucer Seminary and, among other positions, guest Professor of the Sociology of Religion at Oradea State University (Romania). He is director of the newly formed International Institute for Religious Freedom (Bonn/Cape Town/Singapore) of the World Evangelical Alliance and the chairman of German and Austrian Evangelical Alliance's Working Committee on Religious Freedom.
