Christmas Message from Graham Power: Founder and Chairman GDOP

It has been a very exciting year for us in South Africa with the 10 year anniversary of the Global Day of Prayer and the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization – both hosted in Cape Town and both an integral part of our lives and the GDOP office.

Celebrating the 10th  anniversary of the Vision God gave was a blessing to us because we could see the unfolding of God's great plan for our nation, our continent and the world.  At the Global Day of Prayer celebration in May we launched the Unashamedly Ethical campaign.  2 Chronicles 7:14 says, 'If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face…' – that is what we do in the Global Day of Prayer.  Then it goes on to say '… and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land'.   Please pray for this further movement of Transformation as it spreads across the earth, and consider joining us in standing for Godly values, ethics and clean living at http://www.unashamedlyethical.com

In 2010 our team was also privileged to play a major role in the arrangements for the Lausanne Congress.  We stand in awe of this significant gathering.  We are certain that the new relationships and strategy for mission and evangelism that came from these meetings will be a great blessing to the Church and the world.

We already sense a great deal of excitement for the Global Day of Prayer on the 12th of June 2011!  The prayer movement is growing stronger and stronger all across the world.  With the help of many prayer partners and ministries around the world, we are hoping to spread a message that will Awaken the Watchmen (Ezekiel 22:30).

Billy Graham once said: "To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees."

May God bless you richly as we look forward to the new year and all of the possibility it holds.  As you spend some time with family and loved ones over Christmas, may you also encounter Christ anew in your life.  I pray that the miracle of God's greatest gift – Jesus Christ – would transform and renew you in the year to come.

Together with you in Christ's service,

Graham Power
