Praise Report and Prayer Request for Shiromi Edirishnghe

General March 28, 2008

Dear friends,

We thank and praise God for Mrs. Shiromi Edirisinghe's (widow of the late Pastor Neil Edirisinghe) recovery where she is now able to breathe again without the aid of a ventilator. She is able to eat, speak and has spent some time with her son. Last week, the NCEASL chairman Rev. Michael Dissanayake visited her in hospital.

NCEASL made a special request to the Christian community in Sri Lanka and worldwide to pray especially for Shiromi on the 16th of March, since her condition remained critical for almost a month. We believe her recovery is an answer to prayer. Praise God and thank you for your prayers.

Further surgery – please continue to pray

Shiromi still has a long way to recover from her injuries. She if due to undergo an operation to remove a bullet which is lodged just 1 cm away from her spine. This is a very serious opertion and she was transferred to the Kandy Hospital for it. At present her left leg is immobile. The bullet wound on her left arm has not healed and she is unable to use her arm.

Please continue to uphold her in your prayers as she goes through the operation and also comes to terms emotionally with the loss of her husband.

Once again, we thank all of you who pray for her, their son and the Church and all those who have contributed towards their care.
