We heard the news about Mount Bulusan eruption, its latest was in 2007. Last Saturday morning (Nov. 6), the volcano spewed ash high up in the sky reaching approximately 600 meters.
Mount Bulusan, with a height of 1,565 meters, is the highest peak in Sorsogon. It covers a land area of 3,672 hectares. The mountain has recorded at least 17 major eruptions since 1886.
From the update of the authorities, there are six municipalities that are likely to be affected. These are Barcelona, Bulusan, Casiguran, Gubat, Irosin and Juban, covering about 70 barangays. Warnings are given to them to stay away from the four-kilometer permanent danger zone around the volcano.
Let us be united in prayer for our brothers and sisters, our church partners in the province of Sorsogon.
