Prayer Request

Between the 1st and 5th of February 2008, five local Pastors were arrested by the Police under emergency regulations for alleged involvement in LTTE activities. Subsequently, one of the pastors was released after investigation. On the 11th February, another Pastor was arrested.

At present, 5 Pastors remain in custody while investigations are being carried out. Various versions of these events have been highlighted in the local media causing tension and fear among the Christian community.

There are also reports that in the Nuwara Eliya area, announcements have been made that Churches will be subject to a search by the security forces or Police today (12th February).

Please pray for God's Grace and peace and for the Christian community in Sri Lanka.
