EFC ENDORSES WEA POSITION ON KORAN BURNING VIOLENCE
The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has spoken out against the actions of a Florida pastor in burning the Koran and the resulting violence in Afghanistan and Pakistan. EFC RECEIVES INTERVENOR STATUS FROM SUPREME COURT OF CANADA
The EFC has been granted intervenor status to make a submission to the Supreme Court of Canada in the important parental rights and religious freedom case S.L., et al. v. Commision scolaire des Chênes, to be heard by the court on May 18, 2011.

EFC PRESIDENT AND SENATOR DISCUSS WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN
Bruce Clemenger J. Clemenger, president of the EFC, and his wife Tracy, met with Senator Don Meredith last week to discuss how church and governments can work to advance the well-being of children and youth in Canada. Senator Meredith, an ordained minister,  is known for his work to reduce youth violence in Canada and the development of the GTA Faith Alliance in Toronto which seeks to develop after-school programs for youth in churches and other religious institutions.

ELECTION KIT HELPS YOU PREPARE FOR FEDERAL ELECTION
As Canada heads toward the polls on May 2 in a federal election, the EFC has released its Election Kit – featuring do’s and don’ts for churches, tips on organizing an all candidates meeting, a call to prayer and fact sheets on several issues of importance for Evangelicals considering candidates for Canada’s government.

PARTNERSHIP TRAINING CONFERENCE NEXT WEEK
The Partnership Training Conference, co-hosted by the EFC, is happening next week April 11-15, in Guelph, Ont. Please pray for participants as they explore new ways to think about partnership possibilities.

DO WE REALLY NEED TO VOTE ON GOOD FRIDAY?
The EFC’s Don Hutchinson takes a look at election timing and Christian holy days, including the proposal for Sunday voting that has been presented in the last two sessions of Parliament in the ActivateCFPL blog, “Advance Polls for Canadian Election Open on Good Friday: Thankfully not Easter Sunday … this time.”

The EFC's Centre for Faith and Public Life (CFPL) is accepting applications until April 15 for Law and Public Policy Summer Interns. Post-secondary students, successful in their application, will have a unique opportunity to work in Ottawa on public policy projects and legal issues.
