Last week, The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada’s (EFC) president, Bruce J. Clemenger, spoke on the topic of “The Church and Political Engagement” in Newmarket, Ont. to a gathering of pastors and lay Christian leaders.

EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger participated in the 80th birthday celebration of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, an EFC affiliate, on June 18. IVCF’s work on high school and university campuses and their camp ministry were highlighted and affirmed.

Equipping the Church for Effective Evangelism
Equipping Evangelists (E2), a partnership that operates on the communications and administrative platform of the EFC, is engaging and equipping those who want to do evangelism better. Recent regional events are generating excitement for the local church about E2’s innovative strategies and impacts in their communities.

wea continues to grow
The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), of which the EFC is a member, recently recruited the Christian Council of Korea, an alliance representing 64 denominations and 21 organizations, thus adding to its network believers from the world’s second largest missionary-sending country.

HEADING OVERSEAS THIS SUMMER?
The EFC Global Mission Roundtable has updated its Code of Best Practice in Short-Term Mission. The Code seeks to provide a standard or benchmark for short-term mission practice and suggests elements that should be incorporated as a basic minimum. EFC Shifts DVD Available
A DVD of Christian Leaders Connection seminars given in June of 2008, entitled Shifts, and featuring sessions by the EFC’s Bruce J. Clemenger and Don Hutchinson is available as a resource for churches for $40. View excerpts and a detailed description.
