EFC BLOG FOR FRESH COMMENTARY ON LAW AND PUBLIC POLICY

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada's (EFC) Centre for Faith and Public Life has launched a blog, Activate CFPL, as well as a Twitter account. Check it out today for commentary on the effects of pornography, voting trends and meetings with parliamentarians. Join the conversation as a Follower or Friend.

EFC DIRECTOR IN EDMONTON
Linda Milke, director of ministry advancement for the EFC, will share an update on EFC activities at the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies Convention (FCA) held at Richfield Christian Fellowship (RCF) in Edmonton on Oct. 21. While in the Edmonton area, she will meet with EFC supporters and Christian leaders. Both the FCA and RCF are EFC affiliates.

BREAKFAST ON PARLIAMENT HILL
Over 40 people from all three major national political parties attended the EFC breakfast for MPs and Senators on Oct. 6. Some have commented on the success of the breakfast. The briefing focused on Canadian Evangelical Voting Trends by Region, 1996-2008, and featured presentations by the co-authors of the report, the EFC’s Rick Hiemstra, director of the Centre for Research on Canadian Evangelicalism, and Don Hutchinson, director of the EFC's Centre for Faith and Public Life.

ENCOURAGING MINISTRIES TO MUSLIMS
The EFC’s Canadian Network of Ministries to Muslims held a Toronto Consultation on Sept.11, to encourage the effectiveness of Muslim ministries in various cities across the country. Interested in joining a city network and or learning more? CNMM can connect you and educate you about Muslim ministry in Canada.

Prayer Leaders Gather in BC
Leaders of various prayer movements from across Canada came together in B.C. on Sept. 27-30 to listen in prayer for things they might do better together than alone. Aileen Van Ginkel, vice-president of Ministry Services of the EFC, joined the members of this informal network. The network, which is facilitated administratively by the EFC, will develop a Canadian prayer focus for 2010 and plans for ongoing regional and national gatherings.
