It’s the in-between season! Summer’s over and you may be planning a winter get-away. Have you considered combining a trip to Cuba with outreach?

According to an archived story on Christianity.ca, Cuban Christians, for instance, crave fellowship with believers from other countries. Pastors especially benefit from visits. Consider blessing the pastors in the towns you visit with some Spanish Bibles. Others you meet may appreciate a copy of the Bible too. Adrian Ashcroft and his wife Nancy accent their Cuban vacations with a mini-mission emphasis to give out New Testaments to grateful recipients.

There is a people-group in Cuba with whom you may not be familiar. Cuba has a small Jewish population. Brenda Rishea tells how the Jewish people got there and shares how we can help enhance their lives.

Just recently Jews throughout the world celebrated Rosh Hashanah (the New Year, according to the Hebrew calendar) and several significant biblical feasts. In Israel, where currently the threat of war is on the horizon and tensions are high, the people especially appreciated Christian visitors who arrived from other nations to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. See the festivities and celebration on video.

These stories are but a few featured on Christianity.ca this week. We invite you to visit our homepage for news commentaries and other articles. A news story of interest, for instance, is the proposed legalization of prostitution. Julie Beazley, who co-ordinates the National Roundtable on Poverty and Homelessness for The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada asks, ”Would legalizing prostitution . . . be a step forward in protecting vulnerable, victimized women?”

Have a good week!

Blessings,
