BE A PART OF THE QUEST TO HALVE POVERTY
Micah Challenge is a global Christian campaign that seeks to deepen our engagement with impoverished and marginalised communities, and to challenge international leaders – of rich and poor countries alike – to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, and so halve absolute global poverty by 2015. Sign the Micah Call. Know it. Pray it. Think it. Tell it. Do it. For more information on Micah Challenge, a ministry partner of the EFC, and their 10.10.10 prayer challenge, visit the Micah website and learn how to get involved.
JOBS FOR KIDS WHO NEED THEM MOST
Youth for Christ, an affiliate of the EFC, is empowering inner-city youth through its Work Force program in Winnipeg’s North End. Read more about the program and the ways it’s affecting lives and community in this article on Christianity.ca, a website ministry of the EFC.
HELPING A SUICIDAL PERSON
“Suicide is not about wanting to die. It's about wanting to stop unbearable emotional pain,” according to Through the Pain, a video resource developed by the EFC’s Aboriginal Ministries Council. Order this DVD to learn how to better identify and assist someone who is suicidal.
WATCH EFC VIDEOS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING, CENSUS AND MORE
Did you know that the EFC has made a number of its video productions available online? Watch Misplaced, which portrays views of today’s church from young adults’ perspectives. Perhaps listen to Don Hutchinson explain religious freedoms in Canada. Or, view a powerful video on human trafficking. Our most recent productions include the EFC's Faye Sonier speaking about pro-life issues and the EFC's Rick Hiemstra talking about the impact of the census long form. A Web browser with Flash 10 is required to view these clips.

The conversation is supported by the World Evangelical Alliance and is taking place right now in the lead-up to Lausanne 2010, a major gathering of Christians to be held this October in South Africa.
ALOHA AT THE BAPTIST WORLD ALLIANCE CONGRESS
The Baptist World Alliance met for their 20th congress in Hawaii last week. Geoff Tunnicliffe, International Director and CEO of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), addressed the congress with comments about shared ministry initiatives. Tunnicliffe is also the Director of Global Initiatives at the EFC, a regional member of the WEA.
