After visiting the leadership of Trans World Radio and before meeting with pastors and missionaries of the International Church on Bonaire, Thomas Schirrmacher visited the Lieutenant Governor of Bonaire, Edison Enrique Rijna. Bonaire is located close to the coast of Venezuela, it’s capital is Kralendijk. Bonaire is a popular scuba diving destination because of its multiple shore diving sites and easy access to the island’s fringing reefs. Schirrmacher praised Rijna for having pushed for protecting the riffs as national protected natur park with a solid ongoing programme to protect the integrity of the riffs. The difference – Schirrmacher said – can be seen if one compares the intact riffs of Bonaire with the destrcution talking place on the riffs of its two neighbor countries, who do not control tourists use of the riffs.
Schirrmacher was accompanied by Jason Helmholdt, the Station Director of Trans World Radio on Bonaire.
