During their visit to evangelical church leaders and governments of the three Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) on behalf of the World Evangelical Alliance and the European Evangelical Alliance, Thomas Schirrmacher and Matthias Böhning, also visited several ministries involved in helping refugees from the Ukraine in Lithuania, including the Lithuanian branch of the International Society for Human Rights headed by Jurgita Samoskiene, the Caritas center helping homeless people and refugees and „Our House“ headed by Olga Karatch originally from Belarus.
„Our House“ does not only help refugees, but also protesters from Belarus having to leave Belarus running for their life, as well as young men refusing to serve in the army of Belarus. Our House is one of the most important organisations of fighters for democracy in exile.
