World Evangelical Alliance homepage with global flags and tagline
30 septembre 2026

180 years ago, Christian leaders from across the world gathered in London and bound themselves to one another in an alliance of evangelical Christians. They shared no common language, no common government and no common budget. What they shared was an understanding of partnering, and a conviction that the witness of the Church would be stronger together than apart.

That conviction still holds. Today the World Evangelical Alliance is a fellowship of national and regional alliances representing some 650 million evangelical Christians. And in this, our 180th year, we have begun rebuilding the place where that fellowship meets the world.

What is new

  • A homepage that says plainly who we are, who we represent, and what we are for. It highlights our news, our work, and the breadth of our fellowship.
  • Qui sommes-nous ? — our heritage, our calling, our structure and the global reach that serves this fellowship.
  • Notre déclaration de foi — what we hold in common, presented clearly. It is one of the most visited pages on our website, and now it reads like it.
  • Ce que nous faisons — how we convene the global Church, connect the fellowship, and speak for it before the nations.
  • Alliances régionales et nationales — the fellowship itself, region by region, so that any visitor can find the alliance nearest to them.
  • Nouvelles — every story now clearly laid out and filterable by category so that what matters to you is easy to find.

Why we have done this

For many people, our website is the only place they will ever meet the World Evangelical Alliance. A journalist writing about persecuted Christians. A government official preparing for a meeting. A pastor looking for their national alliance. A believer wondering whether to pray, to partner or to give.

Our previous website served us faithfully for many years, but it was not built for the fellowship we have become, and it did not tell your story well. The new site is built to do that — to show what God is doing through His Church in every nation, and to make it easy for anyone to find their way in.

What comes next

This is the first stage, not the finished work. We have chosen to release the new website in stages rather than hold it back until every page is complete. We will continue to work on older pages and add new ones to equip this home to inform and support all those who come to visit.

Thanks be to God

We give thanks to God for 180 years of faithful witness, and for every alliance, church and believer who makes up this fellowship. A website is only a tool. But it is a tool we intend to use well — so that the global Church can be seen for what it is, and so that the Gospel we hold in common can be clearly heard.

“Every nation, every generation.”
