After more than eight years in key roles, Peirong will conclude her service at the end of 2026
The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) today announced that Dr. Peirong Lin will conclude her service as Chief of Staff on December 31, 2026, after more than eight years in a succession of key roles serving the global evangelical family.
Peirong joined WEA in 2018 in the Department of Theological Concerns. In 2021, she was appointed Deputy Secretary General for Operations — the first woman to hold the office of Deputy Secretary General at WEA — and in March 2026 she became Chief of Staff. Across these roles, she has strengthened WEA’s organizational foundations, supported its work across its global network, and helped keep its operations steady through seasons of transition.
Among her most visible contributions was her part in organizing two WEA General Assemblies: in Sentul, near Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2019, and in Seoul, South Korea, in 2025. These landmark gatherings brought together national and regional alliances, affiliates and partners from across the global evangelical family.
Her commitment and institutional knowledge have also provided valuable continuity across the tenures of three Secretaries General, ensuring that WEA’s essential work continued uninterrupted.
Peirong has contributed to WEA’s theological and public voice as well. She has hosted webinars with guests from across the global evangelical community, written for and supported the publication of the Evangelical Review of Theology, and co-edited, with Amanda Jackson, Co-Workers and Co-Leaders: Women and Men Partnering for God’s Work (2021) in the WEA Global Issues Series — a project that brought her particular joy.
“Peirong has served WEA with faithfulness, competence and a deep love for the global Church,” said Rev. Botrus Mansour, WEA Secretary General. “Her knowledge of our work and our people has been a gift to this organization through many seasons. We are grateful to God for her service, and we pray for His richest blessing on her in the next chapter of her life and ministry.”
“Dr Peirong has served WEA with diligence, dedication and care,” said Godfrey Yogarajah, Chair of the International Council. “Her ability to build strong relationships across our global family, together with her organizational skills, has made a valued contribution to our shared work. On behalf of the International Council, I thank her for her faithful service and wish her God’s blessing in the next chapter of her life and ministry.”
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve God through WEA over these eight years,” said Peirong Lin. “I have had a front-row seat to the vitality of evangelical churches around the world and the many ways they bear witness to Christ in their own contexts. I thank God for the mentors and co-workers who have become friends and shaped me along the way.”
Transition and succession
Peirong will remain in post until December 31 and is working closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth handover.
