Rev. Dr. Master Matlhaope

General Secretary, Association of Evangelicals in Africa

Rev. Dr Master Matlhaope is the General Secretary of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA).  

He hails from Botswana, where he previously served as the President of the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana (EFB) for a maximum of three successive terms. He is also a senior minister in the Pentecostal Protestant Church (PPC) in Botswana and has been a pastor for over 22 years. 

Before he was appointed AEA General Secretary, Rev. Dr Matlhaope was a member of Botswana’s Advisory and Arbitration Council (AAC), a statutory and quasi-judicial body. He has held other positions in the public sector, specifically as a member of a thirty persons Presidential Task Team (PTT), to design, develop, draw and document a long-term vision for Botswana, known as Vision 2036 and also appointed by the Minister of Health to the country’s Nursing and Mid-wifrey Council of Botswana.

Rev. Dr Master Matlhaope holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Practical Theology from North-West University (NWU)-Potchefstroom in South Africa. He did part of his doctoral research at the Cambridge University-United Kingdom under Tyndale House. He did his Masters at Cape Theological Seminary aka Global University at Cape Town – South Africa and majored in New Testament and minored in leadership. His first Degree was in Bible and Theology with the Global University (Missouri-United States of America). 

He is married to Boipuso Eneldah Matlhaope and blessed with three children; two boys – Prince and David and a daughter, Abigail.
