Love Thy Neighbour: Urgent Aid for Those in Crisis

Jesus: A Refugee and Our Eternal Hope

In a world filled with displacement, pain, and fear, we can find comfort in knowing that Jesus himself walked the path of a refugee. As Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt to escape danger, they became refugees in search of safety—just as millions of families do today.

This Christmas, we remember:

  • Jesus was displaced but never lost hope.

  • He understands the struggles of those who are forced to flee their homes.

  • In the midst of our suffering, Jesus offers us the greatest gift—salvation.

Across the Holy Land, Sudan, North Korea, and Myanmar, millions of vulnerable Christian families are enduring unimaginable hardship—facing displacement, persecution, and life-threatening conflict. The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) is on the ground, providing critical aid: food, medical supplies, and educational support to those in dire need. But beyond just physical relief, we bring the hope of Christ, offering prayer and spiritual strength to sustain faith in the darkest of times.

1. Holy Land

The Holy Land has long been a region of deep historical and religious significance, but it remains torn by conflict and division. Families, especially Christians, are caught in the crossfire of political and religious disputes, with lives disrupted by violence, displacement, and loss. The World Evangelical Alliance is committed to standing with these families, providing spiritual and practical support. Our prayers seek reconciliation, justice, and healing, asking God to bring peace to this war-weary land where hope is desperately needed.

2. Sudan

Sudan’s ongoing civil conflict, rooted in deep-seated political and military tensions, has displaced millions and left many without access to basic necessities. Christian families, marginalized and persecuted under Sudan’s Islamic regime, are among the most vulnerable. They face acute food insecurity, lack of medical supplies, and an urgent need for educational support. The WEA in partnership with the African Evangelical Alliance and Sudan Evangelical Alliance are raising funds to provide essential food, medical, and educational support to Christian families, helping them to survive the ongoing conflict and maintain their faith and hope.

3. Vietnam

On 7th September 2024, one of the strongest storms to hit Vietnam in three decades has left a trail of destruction and continues to threaten the lives of millions across northern and central parts of the country. There are Christians whose lives have been lost, others whose homes have been washed away.  The WEA in partnership with local church leaders at the Vietnamese Evangelical Alliance are raising funds to support Christians.

4. Nepal

Nepal Recent devastating floods and landslides caused unprecedented damage with loss of hundreds of people and 10,000 households displayed. As the church community, the National Evangelical Alliance of Nepall have been interceding to support these families in need. Freezing cold winter is nearing each day with families and children without clothing and warm blankets. The World Evangelical Alliance is coming alongside to support them.

Pray. Act. Give.

Stand with the WEA as we bring aid, hope, and the message of peace to the world’s most marginalized.
