It is with great sadness that I read the news about Sam's passing. Sam was a true warrior of God who heeded God's call and dedicated  his life to serve the cause of justice and plead the cause of the downtrodden. We remember in particular Sam's passion and dedication to the defense of religious freedom in all parts of the world. His service to the global Christian legal fraternity through the establishment of Advocates International is immeasurable and will continue as Sam's legacy to future generations.

I first met Sam at the first Advocates International global conference in USA many years ago. He remained a dear friend and an inspiration. The last time I met Sam was in October 2008 at the last Advocates Global Convocation in Washington D.C. It was a joy to see him still courageously working hard, faithful to his calling in spite of his long battle with cancer.

Not only was Sam a gifted lawyer and leader, he was also a great encourager and mentor to many struggling young lawyers across the globe. Each of these lives he touched will remain a testimony to Sam's example as a lawyer, leader and above all a follower of Christ. And so we rejoice, knowing that Sam is now with his Father, having completed his task on earth.

Please convey my deepest sympathies to Bobby and their children. Our prayers are with you at this time of grief. May God our Father grant you comfort and peace in knowing that she is now free of all pain, basking in the light of God's Throne.

In prayerful fellowship,
