Unconstitutional elements assaulted Christians for attending a Christmas service of the Full Gospel Church of God at Najafgarh, Delhi on Dec 22, 2009 at about 5:30 p.m.

Pastors Benny Stephen and Pastor K. Cherian were surrounded by a group of communally motivated people who stopped and threatened them against attending the Christmasservice organized by the church. The mob alleged that the service was aimed at converting people by force and attacked the pastors. Pastor Benny sustained injury on his back and face while Pastor Cherian received injuries on his head.

The Christmas service was organized after taking due permission from the concerned police station. The meeting was being attended by approximately 250 Christians and was led byPastor Ragunath Pillai.

The matter was reported to the police station at Najafgarh, who are conducting preliminary investigations.

Please pray for the security of the Christians and for peace.
