March 25, 2009:

Hindu extremists on March 14 brutally assaulted two Christian workers in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

According to an EFI correspondent, Rev Sanjay Paul, a mob of about 30 anti-Christian extremists mercilessly attacked Gospel for Asia (GFA) workers identified as Murari Jay and Atul Rajesh.

Apposing the Christians and their activities in the area, the extremists barged into the house of the believers at about 6:30 p.m., stripped them naked, kicked, punched and beat them up.

The believers sustained minor injuries.

The police arrived at the scene and took the two Christians to the police station for security measure. They were released at about 11:30 the same night.

The believers and the attackers reached a compromise, according to GFA representative.

Please pray for the Christian workers and for religious tolerance in Himachal Pradesh.
