187 COUNTRIES HAVE REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE IN GDOP
"To pray is to unite ourselves with Jesus and lift up the whole world
through him to God in a cry for forgiveness, reconciliation, healing and
mercy.Prayer is leading every sorrow to the source of all healing. But most of all, prayer is the way to become and remain a part of Jesus' mission to draw all people to the intimacy of God's love."
Henri Nouwen, The Only Necessary Thing: Living a Prayerful Life
We are not alone in sensing that God is moving in tremendous power in these days and He is calling us to be part of this journey. This journey is not really about what God is doing for His church, but about what He is doing for a world so desperate for His love and glory. He is calling us to humble ourselves, to pray, and to seek His face (2 Chronicles 7:14) so that He will fill our communities, cities, nations and all the earth, with His glory (Habakkuk 2:14).
With only 61 days to go before 31 May 2009 we have only 33 countries who have not responded to the invitation to participate in GDOP. As our sole focus at the moment is to saturate the earth with prayer, we are still desperately looking for contacts in the following nations. If you are
someone who could help us in one of these countries or know of anyone, please get in touch with us.
Please pray with us that these nations will respond to the call.
Latin- and Central America (Caribbean)
British Virgin Islands
St Vincent and the Grenadines
Turks and Caicos Islands
Virgin Islands of the USA
Saint Pierre and Miquelon
On the Homepage of the GDOP website, www.globaldayofprayer, you will find a map of the world with information on which nations have already been registered for GDOP 2009 and those who have not yet been registered.
Please take note that even if a nation has participated the previous year we cannot assume participation for 2009 unless such a nation has submitted a new registration or communicated it with us in some way (e.g. e-mail, fax etc.)
