6-7 Bajrang Dal men attacked the Grameen Mission School at Sikandra, Agra in Uttar Pradesh this morning (May 1, 2007).

The men arrived on motorcycles and tried to enter the room where a board meeting was taking place. When the guard tried to detain them, he was beaten badly. The board members, however, did not get hurt as they had locked the room from the inside. The property of the school was also damaged.

When the Christian Legal Association (CLA) spoke to the police at the Sikandra Thana, they were informed that two people have already been arrested. A medical examination has been done for the guard.

Grameen Mission School is a Christian outfit that caters to the needs of villagers.

Please pray for protection of the staff and students at this school and that all the attackers would be caught and brought to justice. Pray especially that the guard would recover soon.

General Secretary
