Believers Church Pastor attacked in Bareilly, UP
A group of about 50 Hindu radicals attacked Pastor P.C. Nayak of Believers Church in
India, a ministry of Gospel For Asia, on November 10th 2007 in Bareilly, Uttar
This incident took place when Pastor Nayak was called for a meeting by local colony
residents, headed by a man named Pradeep Saxena, to discuss regarding the
construction of a church. As soon as he arrived at the construction site the
fanatics started beating the pastor. He received internal injuries and was taken by
the police to the Govt. Hospital for treatment.
An FIR was registered against the accused in Izatnagar Police Station under section
323, 504, 506, 427 of the Indian Penal Code. As a result four people were arrested
but later released on bail.
Station Officer Inspector P.D. Ratnakar informed EFI that action has been initiated.
EFI requests prayer for Pastor P. C. Nayak and the believers in the city of Bareilly
even as they continue to recieve threats from the miscreants.
