Praise Report

Pastor Simon Tandi was acquitted of the charges of rape, abortion and threatening
under sections 376, 313 and 506 of IPC respectively on 12th of September 2007.
Sanjeela Begum, Simon Tandi's sister and a co-accused in the case was also acquitted
of charges framed against her under sections 313 and 506 of IPC.

Pastor Simon and his sister were implicated in the case in June 2005 when local
fundamentalist group conspired against them with the help of a local girl to
fabricate these charges. Simon Tandi spend six months and Sanjeela Begum spend four
months in jail before getting bail from the High Court.

Evangelical Fellowship of India thanks brothers and sisters the world over who have
been praying for this case.
