Letter to Congressional Leaders on Abortion

NAE President Leith Anderson sent a letter to the House Speaker and the Senate Majority Leader urging that coverage and funding of abortion be excluded from any health care reform legislation approved by Congress. Anderson said, “If facilitation of abortion is not the intent of Congress, then language specifically excluding abortion must be incorporated into the bill, as has been the practice of the federal government for over thirty years.” (read more)

Evangelical Leaders Forum
Registration is now open for the NAE’s Evangelical Leaders Forum to be held October 8 & 9 at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, just outside Washington, D.C.  The Forum will bring together evangelical leaders to discuss critical issues facing the nation and the Church, and its program will focus on “Christian Justice in Difficult Times.”  Confirmed plenary speakers include JoAnne Lyon, General Superintendent of the Wesleyan Church; Michael Gerson, Senior Fellow at t he Institute for Global Engagement; and Luis Lugo, Director of the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. Renewing the Evangelical Mission
“Renewing the Evangelical Mission,” hosted by Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, will grapple with the theological mission of the Church in an increasingly post-Christian, post-partisan and global context.  The conference will be held Oct. 13-15 at Gordon-Conwell’s South Hamilton, Mass., Campus. Ten of the leading theologians of the 21st century will be plenary speakers addressing the role of evangelical mission in the public square. (read more)

Alpha Conference
The National Alpha Conference is for churches and individuals who share the vision to reach their communities with the good news of Jesus Christ.
