THE EFC ON THE DAVE RUTHERFORD SHOW Don Hutchinson, vice-president of The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC), was interviewed on the Dave Rutherford call-in show in connection with the paper Canadian Evangelical Voting Trends by Region, 1996-2008, co-authored with Rick Hiemstra, director of the EFC’s Centre for Research on Canadian Evangelicalism. The Hill Times, the Parliament Hill newspaper, also ran a front page feature on the report.
EFC PRESIDENT SPEAKING AND PREACHING Bruce J. Clemenger, president of the EFC, spoke last week at the Chapel of affiliate ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University. Clemenger also preached at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Perth, Ont.
CHRISTIAN LEADERS CONNECT ALL ACROSS CANADA Bruce J. Clemenger, president of the EFC, along with Rick Heimstra, director of the Centre for Research on Canadian Evangelicalism, presented Christian Leader Connections in Victoria, B.C. and ACTS Seminaries, Trinity Western University, in conjunction with their Pastors and Mentors Conference. Upcoming CLCs are in Halifax on Nov. 10 (pre-registration closes on Oct. 27) and Moncton on Nov. 12.
EFC PRESIDENT AT CANADIAN CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS Bruce J. Clemenger, president of the EFC, will attend the Plenary Assembly of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops this week as an observer.
EFC COMMENTS ON QUEBEC MDs AND EUTHANASIA The National Post turned to the EFC for comment when the news broke that a group of Quebec medical specialists were supporting physician assisted euthanasia. Read the story here. Read more at the EFC’s blog ActivateCFPL.
GROWING MARRIAGE PARTNERSHIP Greg McCombs of the EFC’s Canadian Marriage and Family Network (CMFN) travelled to Saskatoon in Oct. and met with local pastors and church leaders to discuss ways to work together to strengthen marriages in the Saskatoon area and collaborate with similar networks in other cities. The partnership functions on the communications and administrative platform of the EFC.
