March 19, 2010

Tokunboh Adeyemo was a dear Brother in Christ to all those of us who worked with him in the leadership of the World Evangelical Alliance. He became our Chairman in 1983 and served with distinction for eighteen years until his retirement in 2001. Under his leadership the Alliance made many advances in those two decades. Here in Africa, the close relationship between the Association of Evangelicals in Africa and the world Alliance was very beneficial to the cause of Christ. We have missed him greatly since the time he worked so closely with us.

We realise how much Ireti, Bamidele and Modupe will miss him as husband and father. We assure them of our prayers at this time of mourning. We thank God for a faithful servant of Christ who did so much to commend his Lord and extend the Kingdom in Africa and all over the world. We shall cherish his memory.

On behalf of the entire WEA community we celebrate the life of a faithful and effective follower of Christ. We also extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Dr. Adeyomo. We pray that God’s grace will be experienced by all.

With deep appreciation and respect on behalf of the WEA community,

Rev. Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe
International Director/CEO
World Evangelical Alliance
