WEA Secretary General in London after successful North America tour

London — May 26, 2026

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) Secretary General Rev. Adv. Botrus Mansour arrived in London for the final leg of a work trip that included Canada and the United States. Mansour described his North American visit, which spanned speaking engagements, private meetings with ministry leaders, supporters and potential donors, and conversations with WEA staff, as fruitful. He is in London to join the WEA International Council this week and then to the Jordanian capital upon the invitation of the Jordan Evangelical Alliance to participate in the centennial of evangelical mission in Jordan.

Meetings in Toronto and Dallas yielded encouraging connections and excellent discussions, Mansour said. In Dallas he met with Mr. John Girgis, WEA Special Envoy to the Middle East and former Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, to discuss regional cooperation and strategic priorities.

The north America trip also included engagements with Dallas-area educators and ministry leaders, notably Dr. Jay Harley and Dr. Riss Obraen of Dallas Baptist University, where discussions centered on partnerships in theological training and higher education. Additionally, he connected with Justin Foreman of Faith Driven Entrepreneur to explore faith-driven entrepreneurship as a platform for ministry and social impact, and spoke with Texans on Mission Ministry to exchange mobilization insights.

In his meetings, Mansour introduced the WEA. He framed the Evangelical Alliance as a sustaining framework for momentum, highlighted unity among Christians who have long divided over doctrine and polity, emphasizing a shared mission to advance the gospel as essential for future collaboration. The trip’s outcomes, he said, lay groundwork for ongoing donor engagement and ministry partnerships within the WEA network as the organization moves toward the International Council in London.
