Ethiopian State to consider new law to restrict Christian activitiesAccording to reports, Ethiopia’s northern Tigray State is currently exploring the possibilities of adopting a new law that would limit Christian activities to within official church compounds.
It is believed that non-orthodox Christians would be the worst affected as the new law would make it compulsory for churches seeking its own property to have a minimum of 6,000 members — a number greater than the total population of non-Orthodox Christians in Tigray State.
Furthermore, it is also reported that the new law would curb evangelising outside church compounds. Recently, a similar law was implemented in the neighboring Amhara State. |

- Pray that lawmakers in the State would ensure that any legislation passed would not run in contrary to the spirit of religious freedom;
- Pray for greater protection for non-Orthodox churches in Ethiopia.

Australian Islamic group calls for Christian converts from Islam to be killedIt is reported that Hezb ut Tahrir, an extremist Islamic group in Sydney, has called for the killing of Christian converts from Islam in Australia. According to the different schools of Islam, apostates could be given the death penalty for leaving Islam.

Mob Kills Christian Elder at Evangelical School in Omdurman, SudanYounan Abdullah, an elder with Bahri Evangelical Church, died in a hospital after being stabbed while he and others were defending women at the Evangelical School of Sudan, Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church (SPEC). The incident occurred during a protest held by Christians against the attempted seizure of the school property by a Muslim businessman.
According to a report by Middle East Concern, police were present during the attack on the school but failed to intervene. Abdullah is survived by his wife and two young children.

- Pray that the authorities in Sudan will take action against the perpetrators and bring them to justice on account of this heinous crime;
- Pray that the other church member who has been stabbed will completely recover and heal from his injuries;
- Pray that the Christian community will stand strong and that God’s grace would be upon them in these trying times.
