Thomas Nelson title seen as outstanding educational resource written with a Christian worldview
Thomas Nelson announced today that the title Evangelicals Around the World: A Global Handbook for the 21st Century received the Gold Award for Education Resources in the third annual Illumination Book Awards. Together with his team of multi-disciplined scholars, writers, and leaders, general editor Dr. Brian C. Stiller provides a comprehensive history of evangelical Christianity that crosses cultures and histories and offers a thorough assessment of evangelical theology and doctrine. Stiller and his editorial team, Todd Johnson, Mark Hutchinson, and Karen Stiller, highlight essays, articles, maps, graphs, photos and more to tell a cohesive story about one of Christianity’s largest global movements.
Stiller commented, “Our team is honored to have been picked for this Gold Medal award. At a time when words are used to political advantage, the defining of who evangelicals are, what they believe, and where they come from, was an extraordinary opportunity to serve our Christian community worldwide.” With Stiller’s position as a global ambassador for the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the organization promotes the book as a resource for educating the evangelical community “to better understand who we are and what makes us tick.”
The Illumination Book Awards are “designed to honor and bring increased recognition” to the best products released by Christian publishers each year. Evangelicals Around the World was also recently picked as Outreach magazine’s Cross-Cultural Resource of the Year.
