S. Stanley, 58, a Christian house owner and a retired government employee was brutally murdered at his house in front of his wife by three youth on Saturday afternoon, the 10th of February at Kalliyoor, the border area of Thiruvanandapuram, Kerala.
The murder happened when the attackers started to shout slang words against Christianity and Christians in front of Stanley’s house. As they began to hit the gate and violently stone the house, Stanley and his wife came out and asked them to go away from the front of their house. At this point, the attackers became more violent.
When Mr. Stanley was ringing for the police, the attackers entered the house and stabbed him several times at his back, neck and stomach. He died on the spot. The men also severely beat his wife, Sisilet Bhai, also a retired government employee.
When the Evangelical Fellowship of India contacted the Nemom Police Station, they were informed that an FIR has been lodged against the attackers by Stanley’s sister, Ms. Shireen Nelson under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police are currently looking for the attackers. At this time, no cause has been established for the murder.
