Myanmar Earthquake Response 2025

On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was shaken by a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake, followed by a powerful aftershock. Entire communities lie in ruins. Over 2,000 lives have been lost, thousands more are injured, and the number continues to rise. Children are sleeping outside in fear. Families have lost everything—homes, loved ones, livelihoods.
This is a moment of deep suffering. But it is also a moment to act. Now is the time for the global Church to respond.
The Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance (MECA)—a trusted partner of the World Evangelical Alliance—is on the ground. Churches are already serving as relief hubs, but resources are critically low. The need is overwhelming, and the window for saving lives is narrowing.
