The Seoul Declaration (version 30 October 2025) represents the culmination of a transparent, global consultation process that included internal leadership, external theologians and organizations across every continent, Office of the Secretary General, and Regional General Secretaries, culminating in final review by the International Council on 26 October 2025. It integrates insights from the Principles behind the Seoul Declaration (31 August 2025) and the Process Overview Memo (19 October 2025).
While standing as a completed statement, we have also intentionally included what we have called “legroom”—space for reflection, dialogue, and contextual study. This means that while the text itself remains closed, the conversation it inspires remains open. We invite seminaries, theologians, pastors, and regional fellowships to engage its themes with reverence and creativity—deepening understanding, not revising the statement.
