New York City—Rev. Botrus Mansour, Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), visited New York to strengthen the organization’s engagement with the United Nations, by declaring that the WEA is keenly interested in “contributing to lessening human suffering.”

Mansour focused on the need for Christians to contribute to human values. “We believe and cherish God-given value to human beings, any human beings, as created in His image and likeness. Therefore, we are willing to contribute to the lessening of human suffering and dehumanization, including in international forums like the United Nations.”

After joining the Calvary Baptist Church congregation for Sunday worship, Rev. Mansour led an equipping session focused on the WEA’s mission, global reach, and the role of its UN office in equipping Christians to engage issues affecting communities worldwide.
