"…these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." Isaiah 56:7

In this edition of the GDOP Newsletter we would like to focus on PRAYING FOR THE NATIONS.

OPERATION WORLD, the definitive prayer guide to every nation, 7th Edition, has recently been launched with incomparable practical guidelines on how to pray for the nations.

You might ask: "Why do we need to Pray for the Nations?"

Upon asking this question, I searched the Operation World website and found the following statement by Patrick Johnstone, Pioneer of OW:

If all the desires, requests and goals expressed throughout this website were to be implemented it would radically change the nations of this world.

Wars would be ended, ethnic hatreds tamed, politicians become honest, ecological restoration begun, global warming and AIDS halted, poverty reduced. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ would be provided with godly leaders, it would be renewed, revived, united in vision, mobilized for mission and readied for the return of its Head. Jesus would return with the world evangelized and the Church complete!

That is the wish.

How much of the earthly and how quickly the eternal agendas would be achieved depends on ONE activity – prayer in the name of Jesus to a loving, sovereign Father.

One of the outcomes of the last 10 years of Global Day of Prayer is the Global awareness it has created among believers. Some believers in persecuted nations have testified that knowing other believers have been praying for them, they have been inspired to pray for those in better circumstances.

Every Home for Christ is convinced that continuous prayer is key to gathering in the Lord's harvest (Matthew (9:37-38).

Prayer moves the hand of God. Once there is sustained, strategic, and informed prayer in the 10/40 Window, we will witness massive numbers of unreached people coming to Christ. Pray that it will happen in our generation. - Beverly Pegues Window International Network

The answer is therefore simple : It's not about us! It's about the Lord's Harvest!
