December 2025: Mark McLeod, WEA Singles Advocate
This report follows up on the 2023 and 2024 reports.
Dr. Elizabeth Leelavathi Manasseh represented the WEA Singles Advocacy team at the WEA General Assembly.
Many thanks for Dr. Leela’s diligent efforts in arranging an informal roundtable where leaders could dialogue about single persons in their nations, as well as share ideas and vision for fully valuing, engaging and empowering this emerging demographic. We extend thanks to Advocate Butros Mansour, Reverend Vijayesh Lal, Dr. Brian Stiller and other leaders who were able to stop by and offer support and encouragement.
Dr. Leela also had opportunity to make a presentation to the Asia Evangelical Alliance GA gathering. She presented Dr. Bambang Budijanto with Barry Danylak’s book, a WEA Singles Initiative synopsis and a prayer mat from India.
Dr. Leela will be following up with the many other leaders she connected to at the GA.

Barry Danylak is an influencer with our WEA Singles Advocacy Team. As Executive Director of SEE Globally, an affiliate of the WEA, he was invited to present a workshop at the WEA General Assembly.
On behalf of SEE Globally and in support of the WEA Singles Initiative, Barry presented a workshop entitled, Theology for Our Rapidly Changing World: Singleness, Marriage & Family through the Lens of Redemptive History.
The SEE Globally Team were grateful to God for the excellent turnout. Each attendee received free resources.
A number of attendees expressed their appreciation and gratitude for what was shared. One participant from the nation of Gabon was especially keen to have this teaching shared in his nation. Another participant from China expressed interest in translating the book into Mandarin. SEE Globally looks forward to supporting her in that project.
Numerous other attendees talked with the SEE Globally team about the possibility of visiting their countries to present seminars. Overall, through the duration of the week, they had new invitations from about ten countries.

East Malaysia: Sidang Injiil Borneo: report from Jacob David, WEA Singles Advocacy Team Chaplain, December 2025
Upon invitation from Datuk Jerry Dusing, President of Sidang Injil Borneo (Borneo Evangelical Mission), Barry Danylak of SEE Globally and Jacob travelled to Kota Kinabalu to discuss a potential singles initiative in Borneo. This was to follow up a meeting that Mark McLeod, WEA Singles Advocate and Jacob had with SIB/BEM leadership in April 2024.
Jacob explained the purpose of the WEA Singles Initiative in the context of the global evangelical singles demographic. Barry presented how SEE Globally seminars, webinars and other resources help advance a biblical theology of singleness for the Church.
President Dusing was most receptive. “This is an important concern. It must go to the whole church in Sabah, not just SIB. I want to take it to the Sabah Council of Churches, the umbrella organization of the Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran, Basel, Assembly of God, SIB and other churches. We are meeting during the first week of December and I will present it to them.”
The meeting the first week of December turned out to be very positive towards a Singles Initiative. Jacob will continue dialogue with President Dusing on behalf of the WEA Singles Initiative and SEE Globally as SIB and the Sabah Council of Churches advance a singles vision.

Report from the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches Singles Commission: Anthony Densing Lorenzo, Director
The PCEC Singles Commission had scheduled a nationwide Life Empowerment Singles Conference for November 7, 2025, in Baguio City, Northern Luzon. Unfortunately, Super Typhoon Uwan made landfall directly over Baguio on the exact date of the event, forcing us to postpone the conference.
We are now planning to reschedule for the fall of 2026. We ask for your continued prayers for the people of Northern Luzon as they recover from the devastating impact of Typhoon Uwan. Likewise, we lift up the communities in the Visayas region who were severely affected by Typhoon Kalmaeji just one week prior.
The beginning of December, Mark McLeod, WEA Singles Advocate, and a PCEC Singles Advocacy Team traveled across Northern Luzon and met with bishops, pastors, and other church leaders representing perhaps 2400 churches. Together, we discussed preparations for a Singles Conference in Baguio for church leadership scheduled for February 17–18, 2026. We look forward to sharing updates on this event and unfolding 2026 Singles Initiative plans.
