European Evangelical Alliance Welcomes United Christian Council in Israel

Tavira, October 21 (idea) ­ European evangelicals are strengthening their
ties with Christians in Israel. The European Evangelical Alliance (EEA) has
welcomed the United Christian Council in Israel (UCCI) as its 35th member
during the general assembly meeting in Tavira, Portugal, October 19 – 23.

UCCI was founded in 1956 and encompasses 30 Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist and
independent evangelical churches as well as para-church organizations in
Israel. President of UCCI is the Baptist pastor Charles Kopp, Jerusalem.

EEA¹s general assembly also accepted the Evangelical Alliance of Bosnia and
Herzegovina as a new member. The EEA represents approximately ten million
evangelicals in 35 countries. Nik Nedelchev of Sofia, Bulgaria, is
EEA-President and Gordon Showell-Rogers, London (UK), Secretary General.
