Evangelical Fellowship of Canada: ADVOCATED FOR CHRISTIAN CONVERT IN AFGHANISTAN

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada actively advocated, along with others, for the dismissal of charges against Abdul Rahman who faced the possibility of the death penalty in Afghanistan for converting from Islam to Christianity. Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving that the charges against Rahman were dismissed. The EFC raised Rahman’s case in meetings with the Canadian government, sent letters to the Prime Minister and Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, submitted letters to the Globe and Mail and the National Post, and issued three prayer alerts through the EFC’s Religious Liberty Commission. Janet Epp Buckingham, director of law and public policy for the EFC, had media interviews in Saskatchewan and Ottawa . Updates still are available on the case.
