The Secretary General of the Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka, pastor
Godfrey Yogarajah, will be awarded the Annual Pro Fide Award (Pro Fide=For
the Faith), given by the Finnish organization Friends of the Martyred Church.
-“Pastor Yogarajah has been a strong defender of religious freedom for the
protestant minority on Sri Lanka for many years. At the same time he has
been in charge of many other projects among them, distribution of relief
for tsunami victims” says Johan Candelin, Chairman of the organisation
Friends of the Martyred Church.
-“Godfrey Yogarajahs work both nationally , regionally and globally has
been of great importance and it is a great honour for our organisation to
give the annual award to him”.
Among other recievers of the Pro Fide award are Richard and Sabina
Wurmbrandt, Dr Menes Noor, (Egypt), Bishop Paride Taban (Sudan) and Bishop
Lazlo Tökes (Romania). The award will be presented to Godfrey Yogarajah at
an award ceremony in Finland in September 2006.
