New York, NY – May 17, 2012

The World Evangelical Alliance is pleased to announce a partnership with the Unashamedly Ethical campaign. Unashamedly Ethical is a global community of Christians who are making a stand for values, ethics and clean living. This campaign, started by Graham Power, Chairman of the Power Group of Companies in South Africa and founder of the Global Day of Prayer, came about after Graham was led by God to take a stand against the cancer of corruption that seeks to destroy society.

The Global Day of Prayer began in one stadium in the City of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2001 and then spread to every country on earth over successive years. Currently the Global Day of Prayer operates in over 220 countries, with more than 400 million people participating in small and large gatherings. These gatherings of repentance and prayer take place on the Pentecost Sunday each year with this year’s Global Day of Prayer on May 27, 2012.

With this foundation of growing prayer, the desire is to sweep the earth with a wave of ‘ethics, values and clean living’ that is now called Unashamedly Ethical. The ultimate desire is that this would lead to transformation, revival and renewal – the kind of change that Christians all over the world are praying and working towards.

2 Chronicles 7.14 is a guiding scripture for this movement:

“If my people who are called by my name…"
"… will humble themselves and pray and seek my face…" – The Global Day of Prayer
“… and turn from their wicked ways…” – Unashamedly Ethical
“… then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.” – Transformation.

Unashamedly Ethical has thousands of signatories in over 80 countries across the world.

Graham Power said, “We thank God for the opportunity to partner with the World Evangelical Alliance. We are deeply committed to supporting Christians and the Church in being obedient to God’s call for righteous living. I am confident that God is going to roll out the Unashamedly Ethical campaign across the world in an even more dynamic and powerful way than we saw in the Global Day of Prayer.”

Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, Secretary General of the WEA, is excited by this joint initiative, stating, "The World Evangelical Alliance believes that God wants us to raise up a standard of righteousness in every sphere of society. This campaign has been particularly successful among business people, government institutions, political organizations and educational institutions. We look forward to taking hands with Unashamedly Ethical and seeing God’s righteousness arise as many more women and men make the commitment to ethics, values and clean living."
