On March 5th, 2020, the World Evangelical Alliance will host a webinar on Artificial Intelligence, including an overview over existing technology and a theological reflection on the topic.
Most of us don’t know how much data is already being collected about us from everyday interactions on our phones, web browsers, commercial and financial interactions and social media use.  Most of us don’t know for what purpose or purposes it is being used, why it is being collected, or indeed by whom and where in the world that data is stored. This is not because of some great conspiracy – it is just because of lack of time and accountability, and the changing culture around us.
In a world of “Big Data” which feeds increasingly capable “Artificial Intelligence”, society around us is being revolutionized both digitally and in its human relationships.
This webinar will provide a fascinating and practical overview of what is already in place opening participant’s eyes to a massive hidden world that surrounds them. Also, there will be a theological reflection on how Christians can understand and make wise choices amidst this rapidly growing change, but also prepare themselves for the risks and challenges ahead.
The webinar will provide an opportunity for ongoing connections for Christians desiring to advocate for openness and justice in the application of these new technologies.
The webinar will take place at 13:00 GMT on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 and can be joined under the following link: https://bgu.zoom.us/j/8682965699.]]>
