WEA Welcomes Hudson, Salguero as North American Representatives to its Women’s Commission

The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) nominated Sharron Hudson, national president of women’s ministry for The Salvation Army – USA, and Jeanette Salguero, associate pastor of Calvario City Church and senior vice president of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, to be commissioners to the World Evangelical Alliance’s Women’s Commission. Hudson and Salguero were invited by the WEA commission and begin serving immediately.

The WEA Women’s Commission is a global network of women leaders that seeks to equip and empower women and girls to be compassionate prophetic Christian voices in the world. The commission works to identify and address the needs of women around the world on issues such as poverty, illiteracy, HIV/AIDs, gender equality, domestic violence, the worth of women, capacity building, education and leadership development.

“Sharron Hudson and Jeannette Salguero are accomplished leaders with hearts for women worldwide. Their mentoring, training and coaching skills will be valuable assets to this international team,” said Tom Correll, NAE global church representative.

Hudson has been an ordained minister in The Salvation Army for almost 43 years, serving in a variety of capacities such as teaching, preaching, social services, programming and music, across the United States. She along with her husband, Commissioner David Hudson, became USA national leaders in September 2017. Her current role is national president of women’s ministry for The Salvation Army – USA. Hudson holds a master of arts in Christian leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Salguero is the associate pastor at Calvario City Church in Orlando and vice president of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition. In addition, she has served as a consultant on minority health disparities to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the American Psychological Association. Salguero has also worked with parachurch organizations and denominations, such as The Wesleyan Church, Reformed Church in America, and Church of the Nazarene, on multi-cultural integration. Her graduate work is in management and leadership at the City University of New York, and she is a graduate of Duke Divinity School’s Faith and Leadership Institute.
