The African regional alliance – Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) – recently released an urgent prayer request for the Democratic Republic of Congo. The M23 rebel group has engaged the border city of Goma. Just yesterday, the AEA also posted about the impact of fighting which has displaced thousands. Future updates should be visible on the news section of the website.

The WEA calls for prayer and attention on this emerging conflict.

  • Pray for those displaced from their homes and fleeing from explosions and gunfire, especially those reportedly bombed while displaced.
  • Pray for protection of the innocent and vulnerable.
  • Pray for leaders on both sides of the conflict to re-consider their actions and change course to pursue non-violent options.
  • Pray for churches and schools in both the Congo and Rwanda to bring peace, comfort, and offer the love of Christ.

For those moved to offer financial support, the African Evangelical Alliance has a giving portal.
