The Bible in 2 Timothy 3:12 says that “Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Around the world, it is also reported that over 100 million Christians face persecution for their faith daily. Last year, in particular, saw an increase in the persecution of Christians around the world with intense incidents of violence perpetrated against Christians in Nigeria, India, Sri Lanka and Burkina Faso. In some countries, Christians were forced to flee their homes, in other places, they were socially isolated, discriminated, and even killed for their faith.
The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church unites millions of Christians across the globe to pray for those who courageously witness Christ at any cost. The IDOP, therefore, serves as a source to bring awareness of Christians that undergo oppression, mobilizing prayer from the global Church. Moreover, the IDOP also provides support and confidence to oppressed Christians.
We invite you to join us from around the world on the 3rd and 10th November for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Let’s pray that they would relentlessly follow Christ remembering that they are “…persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
