“Prayer warriors are positioned by God to stand in faith for their families and churches and cities and country.”
Praying for the Continents : North America
With nearly 16% of the world’s land surface, North America contains three of the 13 largest countries of the world: Canada (2nd largest), USA(4th) and Greenland (13th).
(Mexico, while geographically in North America, will be included for cultural, linguistic and demographic reasons with South America.)
In contrast with these large nations, with a population of just over 6000,St Pierre Miquelon is geographically part of North America although an overseas collectivity of France.
The world’s wealthiest continent; the US economy is a barometer and pacesetter for the rest of the world and remains the largest. North America is still the engine for much of the world’s economic growth and with some of the world’s highest living standards. This is the continent with the least religious discrimination
Religion in the countries of North America is dominated by Christianity but spans the period of Native American dwelling, European settlement, and the present day. Its various faiths have been a major influence on art, culture, philosophy and law.
The 2012 United States Elections will be held on Tuesday, 6 November 2012.
40 Days of Prayer is a call to fervent prayer for the elections. The USA is in desperate days as a nation as the spiritual, moral and financial fabric of the nation is disintegrating.
Believers need to pray as never before. America's National Prayer Committee and its member organizations are putting out a call to pray 40 days prior to the elections.

In Canada Catholicism is by far the largest religious influence in the country. Although Quebec in particular has a strong Catholic heritage, Catholicism is in fact strong throughout the country.
There is a real vibrancy in Catholicism and charismatic renewal has been a significant part of this – two prominent ministries in this framework are Catholic Christian Outreach and National Evangelization Teams.
Pray for this movement to grow and interface well with other expressions of living Christian faith in Canada.
In Greenland Evangelical witness is quite recent. In 1984, there were only about 20 born-again believers. Now, a growing evangelical movement in several denominations exists – mostly within the New Life Church/Pentecostal framework, although Brethren and NTM churches also exist.
Travel conditions are extremely harsh, and communities along the coasts isolated; those outside the larger settlements have very little chance to hear the gospel. Please pray for growth in the Church but also thank God for airstrips now built in several remote towns, opening these places for ministry.
Pray for people to find hope in a living relationship with Christ in St Pierre and Miquelon
