International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Despite the existence of democracies around the world, religious freedoms have not increased but have clearly gotten worse, in the recent past. The WEA RLC believes that religious liberty is the foundation for all other human rights and therefore must be protected and promoted.
Believers in countries such as Egypt, Eritrea, India, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria and Vietnam face violence, imprisonment and even death because of their faith in Jesus Christ. There are other places in the world such as North Korea where acts of persecution take place, but we don’t see or hear of it. Brother Andrew of Open Doors once said: “Our heroes are not with us simply because they are in prison.”
Join other believers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on 10 November when a time is set apart for us to remember thousands of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who suffer persecution, simply because they confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
Whether it's in a small group, a prayer group in your church, in your Sunday School class–take part by praying for them but also by educating people about what's happening around the world.
