The purpose of the WEA Religious Liberty Prayer Release is to keep you informed and mobilized in prayer and intercession for the needs of justice and religious liberty in the Church around the globe, so that we can stand together for the work of the Kingdom and the healing of the Nations. The Prayer Release is comprised on the basis of different credible resources.
21 Egyptian Christians beheaded in LIBYA16 February –
On Sunday, the Islamic State (IS) released a video allegedly showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians by militants pledging support to the IS in Libya. Subsequent to the video release, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, confirmed that those killed in the video were Egyptian Christians taken hostage in Libya and announced 7-days of national mourning.
In response to the killings, Egypt’s military carried out raids early on Monday against IS camps, training sites and weapons storage areas.
However, reports state that at least 7 civilians were killed in air strikes in the coastal city of Derna, in northeast Libya.
Pray for Jesus’ comforting presence over the families grieving the loss of loved ones;
Pray for God’s protection over all Christians in Libya and across all the conflict areas in the Middle East;
Pray that those perpetrating violence would experience a change in heart, repent and come to know God;
Pray for an end to all bloodshed in the Middle East.
Church attacked; pastor captured and beaten for 3 days in NEPAL
On1 February, a church in Borang, a predominantly Christian village in Nepal was attacked by a group of unidentified people led by a Buddhist monk. According to reports, the attackers destroyed furniture, cut off electricity and phone cables to the pastor’s house and attempted to torch the church building.It is also reported that the pastor was captured in the attack and beaten for 3 days. The captors then forced the pastor to sign a letter stating he would discontinue the church and refrain from lodging a police complaint on the incident.
Prior to the attack, the Buddhist monk held a village meeting and demanded that all villagers renounce Christianity and follow Buddhism. During the meeting, villagers were asked to bow down before an idol and then forced to carry Buddhist scriptures on their heads around the village.
It is believed that the pastor was attacked for refusing to obey the demands of the monk.
Pray for God’s healing upon the pastor and other Christians who were attacked in the incident;
Pray for God’s protection and guidance over all Christians in Borang;
Pray that the Buddhist monk responsible for instigating the attacks, would experience a change in heart, repent and come to the knowledge of Christ.

Imprisoned Christian to face more charges in IRAN3 February – An imprisoned Iranian convert to Christianity, Ebrahim Firouzi, who completed his sentence on 20 January 2015, continues to be held in a prison in Karaj, according to reports.
Ebrahim Firouzi was sentenced to 1 year in prison and 2 years of exile after being convicted on charges of carrying out propaganda against the state, evangelism and launching a Christian website.
It is reported that the Firouzi is set to face additional charges from the Revolutionary Courts.

Pray that Ebrahim would not fear, but trust God during this difficult time.
15-year-old girl beaten to death for converting to Christianity in KENYA21 January – According to reports, a 15-year-old girl, Namugonya Jamirah, was beaten to death by her Muslim father for converting to Christianity in the Kaliro district in Kenya.
Jamirah’s sister, 12-year-old Naigaga Saidah who was also beaten and hospitalized for 2 weeks, is said to be traumatized after learning of her sister’s death.
It is reported that the father, who is an imam, assaulted the girls after a neighbor informed him that his daughters had converted to Christianity.
Pray that Naigaga Saidah would experience Jesus’ comforting presence during this time of sorrow;
Pray for God’s healing mercy upon Naigaga Saidah;
Pray for the girl’s father, that he would repent and turn to God.
