The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) was awarded the Health: Angel. Due to COVID-19 and the busy schedules, the 2022 award could only be presented on February 4, 2024 on the steps of the Old Bonn City Hall, Bonn, Germany. The award was presented to Secretary General and Archbishop Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher and Deputy Secretary, Dr. Peirong Lin. The other staff members were also present. This award was presented to WEA for outstanding health communication for its global commitment to people. The WEA supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which include improving the health situation. With its reach of around 600,000,000 people in more than one hundred countries, the WEA makes a significant contribution to positive development with regard to global health, according to the jury. This is achieved not only through international networking, but also through very specific projects that are implemented in the various countries by the organizations affiliated with the WEA. This long-term commitment has now been recognized by the independent jury of the competition with a “Health: Angel in the Social Commitment” Category.
